What was MUNISS 2022 all about?

"MUNISS is a place where all MUN enthusiasts have the chance to challenge themselves. Our conference teaches and improves on skills that are important for any future job, including complex problem solving, critical thinking and collaboration"
The MUNISS 2022 Executive Team will be holding the 15th annual Model United Nations conference hosted at the International School of Stuttgart (ISS) from  April 7th to April 10th 2022 .

MUNISS offers an educational and challenging opportunity for students to grow in both character and knowledge. It allows students to reinforce the knowledge that is learned in the classroom, teaches students about current global issues, develops critical thinking skills, and aids in building confidence and leadership skills.

The chosen theme for this year's conference will be Development of Societies in the 21st Century.

In a rapidly industrializing global community, what measures ensure that development and growth reach all citizens no matter where they live? Development of Societies in the 21st Century addresses certain topics such as population growth and how nations and governments can strategically plan for this growth by modernizing facilities and expanding job markets. What impact does development planning have on societies? Development can lead to economic growth, more stabilized job markets, better education systems, and a higher quality of health care. However, there are drawbacks to unfettered growth. How much growth can take place before quality of life is impacted and the environment suffers from overuse? Higher rates of water and air pollution, as well as overcrowding and an increase of car dependency are some of the negative impacts with far-reaching consequences. What limits need to be put in place in order to develop sustainably and who gets to decide on those limits?

We look forward to seeing you at MUNISS 2022, and if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our Communications Team at muniss@issev.de.

Warm Regards,
The MUNISS Executive Team 2022
