The MUNISS 2022 conference is going to take place IN PERSON!
The MUNISS 2022 Executive Team wholeheartedly invites you to join us at the 15th annual Model United Nations conference hosted at the International School of Stuttgart (ISS) from April 7th to April 10th 2022.
MUNISS offers an educational and challenging opportunity for students to grow in both character and knowledge. It allows students to reinforce the knowledge that is learned in the classroom, teaches students about current global issues, develops critical thinking skills, and aids in building confidence and leadership skills.
The chosen theme for this year's conference will be Development of Societies in the 21st Century.
In a rapidly industrialising global community, what measures ensure that development and growth reach all citizens no matter where they live? Development of Societies in the 21st Century addresses certain topics such as population growth and how nations and governments can strategically plan for this growth by modernising facilities and expanding job markets. What impact does development planning have on societies? Development can lead to economic growth, more stabilised job markets, better education systems, and a higher quality of health care. However, there are drawbacks to unfettered growth. How much growth can take place before quality of life is impacted and the environment suffers from overuse? Higher rates of water and air pollution, as well as overcrowding and an increase of car dependency are some of the negative impacts with far-reaching consequences. What limits need to be put in place in order to develop sustainably and who gets to decide on those limits?
This theme and the questions generated by it will be discussed in each committee. The committees will vary in difficulty, catering for delegates with a wide range of abilities and experience.
Last year's MUNISS conference was held online due to COVID restrictions and while the conference ran smoothly, we aim to host the conference in person this year, while maintaining proper safety protocol. For up-to-date information in relation to COVID- 19 protocols and how that applies to the conference, please visit the MUNISS website www.muniss.net. Please note the web address has changed from previous years.
If your school would like to attend MUNISS 2022 as a delegation, or as student officers, please email our Communications department indicating your interest and an estimated number of participants - this includes students who want to be delegates (they can have limited or extensive MUN experience) and who want to chair. Please note that students who apply to chair have a different sign-up process, need to be above 15 years old, and should have participated in at least one prior MUN conference as an experienced delegate. You should also apply as a school using this form: https://forms.office.com/r/veUce39Lec. We will get back to you promptly.
We are excited to host MUNISS 2022. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact our communications team at email@example.com or visit our website, www.muniss.net for more information. We hope to see you there.
